Description

The adults are dark brown bees, their bodies are covered in light brown or orange hairs and a wing span up to 14mm.

Symptoms

Semi circular or circular sections of healthy leaf removed from plants (roses are a favourite) to use as nesting materials for raising their young. This activity seems to do little or no lasting damage to the host plant. These are solitary bees and do not sting, they are useful pollinators and a gardener’s friend.
