Canker - Fungal

Description

A disease of the stems and branches of many woody plants including; apples, pears as well as a wide range of ornamental plants. This disease can eventually kill its host if not deal with.

Symptoms

Usually seen as swollen areas around sunken areas of bare wood. These swollen corky areas are often the result of the plants to heal over the infected areas. As these areas are infected by the fungus the bark dies and ‘flakes’ away from the swollen tissue. Small, red, yellow, white or cream coloured fungal growths may be seen under the flaking bark.

What next...

Now you know what the problem is, and the damage it is doing, don't let your plant suffer.
