Rose Black spot

Description

It Is caused by a fungus which infects the leaves and greatly reduces plant vigour. Leaf markings can be seen from spring, and throughout the growing season.

Symptoms

Purplish or black patches with a yellow ‘halo’ around them appear on the upper leaf surface, with strands of the fungus sometimes just visible. Small, black, corky wounds may appear on young stems. Badly affected plants can become almost defoliated and the plant gradually loses its vigour. This disease usually spreads from the base of the plant upwards and spores often overwinter on the soil around the plant before being splashed up onto the leaves by rain.

What next...

Now you know what the problem is, and the damage it is doing, don't let your plant suffer.
