When should I prune my Spiraea 'Goldflame'?

Our Advice:

Any structural pruning required should be done in the spring. Cut back any old stems back to ground level and prune any thin weak shoots down to about 10 cm above the ground. Try to keep the centre of the plant open to reduce the risk of pests and diseases. Trim the shrub to remove the old flowers soon after flowering has finished.
