Description

Is a very common fungal disease also known as Botrytis and has wide range of hosts. It will infect almost any part of a plant from the roots to the fruit. It can be expected at any time of year, especially when conditions are damp.

Symptoms

Most commonly a furry grey-brown mould grows on decaying parts of plants and gradually invading the live tissue. Small black structures can be seen on the tips of these strands of �fur�, these carry spore which are spread by water splashes or carried on the wind. It is common on a wide range of edible and ornamental plants, including; apples, beans, blackberries, courgettes, cucumbers, cyclamen, gooseberries, lettuce, pelargonium, raspberries and tomatoes.
