How and when do I prune my 'Pheasant bush' shrub?

💡 Our Advice
The Pheasant Bush, Leycesteria formosa, is usually pruned in the spring. Remove any old, thick shoots, cutting them back to ground level. Also cut out any thin, weak shoots and congested stems to prevent overcrowding. Feed with a general fertiliser such as Growmore or Pelleted Chicken Manure after pruning.
