In summary, while the LightHouse 2kW Greenhouse Heater offers convenience and effectiveness for some users, concerns about running costs and continuous fan operation may impact its overall appeal for others.
What Owners Think
When it arrived I was impressed with the actual heater itself. Very solid and perfect for a greenhouse. Sadly it is a little pricey to run. Heat setting 1 and having your thermostat pretty low is the only way to save on cost really. Bit apart from that it's a very decent heater.
I bought this type of heater for the greenhouse some years ago from the greenhouse people, the fan turned of with the element when the required temp was reached, this new one does not. I rang the supplier who told me the fan continues and does not turn off but only uses 25 watts. I understand the need for the movement of air but in a greenhouse but in cold weather it would mean the fan would be running for 24-7 and those 25 watts would soon mount up, disappointed to be honest so be careful it could run you electricity bill up if you are growing tender plants in January, February and March
Used in the greenhouse as an alternative to paraffin heating. So much easier than messing with liquid fuel/. Whilst the temperature control is not graduated a couple of nights trial and error got it about right. Ran off a timer on my cheaper overnight electricity rate . Could see the consumption on my smart meter and more than happy as a cost effective alternate to the paraffin.
