Description

This fungal disease, it causes die-back of stems and branches of woody plants, particularly; beech, Japanese maples, hornbeam, horse chestnut and walnut.

Symptoms

Dead, brown leaves hanging limply on the affect branches are often the first indication of infection, followed shoots and branches dying back. Often these dead branches will show pinhead-sized pink blisters in autumn and winter and pinhead-sized buff coloured blisters in spring and summer.
