How and when should I prune Hydrangea 'Annabelle'?

Prune this hydrangea in early-spring before the growth starts. Cut back the previous years growth to 2-3 pairs of buds. Leaving a woody framework about 60 cm high. If your plant has not been pruned for several years it will respond to hard pruning in the spring. Cutting the plant down to about 20 cm to create a new woody framework.
