David Austin Roses has been awarded its 30th Gold Medal at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026, marking a milestone for the Shropshire-based grower with its stunning Cotswold Garden exhibit in the Great Pavilion.
The display brings together the warmth of traditional stonework, abundant roses and the quiet romance of one of Britain's most cherished garden styles. Warm Cotswold stone guides visitors along a gently winding path beneath roses that climb and weave overhead, while shrubs gather in soft, flowing drifts below — fragrance shifting as you move, drawing you onward through light and shade. Unlike traditional show stands, the design encourages visitors to experience the roses at close quarters, through shifting scent, colour and light. At the centre, a circular sanctuary and gentle fountain create a moment of pause — a place to linger and take it in. Shropshire StarDavid Austin Roses
A flower walk lets visitors bask among the blooms, and a scent gallery showcases just how much flowers can differ even within the same species. The Scent Gallery groups roses by personality, from zesty citrus notes to soulful Old Rose perfume, while the Bloom Gallery celebrates the beauty and diversity of petals, from simple single flowers to lush, dramatic rosettes that pollinators love. At the entrance, handcrafted wooden desks sit alongside the wall and gates, framed by the soft blooms of the Sir David Beckham Rose — one of the show's most talked-about new introductions. The rose was created for Sir David's 50th birthday after his daughter, Harper, wished to mark the occasion with something lasting and beautiful. David Austin RosesShropshire Star
