Tulips usually follow on in April and May but there is one variety that is always “The First” - excuse the pun! A short Kaufmanniana variety, perfect for pots or the front of borders with it’s short stems and delicate white and red flowers. Another early variety, a new one to our collection this year is Miskodeed, short and yellow and red in colour.

And then there are the delicate beauty of Crocus. The species varieties will be well on their way with many varieties such as Ard Schenk, Cream Beauty and Goldilocks being in bloom from February to March. The Large Flowering Crocus however follow suit in March and April and varieties such as Jeanne D’Arc and a new variety, Flower Record, will be gracing our gardens – great naturalisers of course!

TOP TIP: Start making a list now of different Spring Bulbs, order early to ensure you get the varieties you want ready for them to be sent out in the autumn for planting.
