Braised Red Cabbage


Red cabbage from the garden slowly braised with apple and vinegar makes a sweet-sour winter side.

Ingredients:

  • 1 red cabbage, shredded
  • 1 apple, chopped
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper

Method:

Melt butter in a pan, add cabbage and apple, sprinkle sugar, add vinegar, cover and simmer 30-35 minutes until tender.

Cooking time: 40 minutes

Storage: Fridge 3-4 days; reheat gently.
