WORX Landroid M500+ WR165E Robot Lawn Mower
On the positive side, the WORX Landroid offered a convenient setup process and, once operational, effectively maintained the lawn's appearance. Its regular mowing routine contributed to a healthier lawn, and the ability to customise mowing schedules through the app was appreciated. The mower's ability to cut efficiently up to the edge, thanks to its offset blades, was also noted positively.
However, the Landroid has struggled with more complex garden layouts due to its boundary wire length. This restricted its coverage area and autonomy, necessitating manual intervention in areas where the mower could not reach. The need for a significant buffer zone around obstacles like flower beds and hedges meant that portions of the lawn remained uncut, requiring additional manual trimming.
Reliability issues surfaced as the mower frequently got stuck. This made it unsuitable for unattended use. Connectivity problems with Wi-Fi and the app added further frustration, detracting from the overall user experience.
What Owners Think
People took the p when I first bought my Landroid (lazy, unnecessary etc) but theyre eating their words now and I love it! My grass has never looked as good or been as healthy, the little clippings dropping into the grass seem to be good for it. I played with the settings and it comes out for 30mins per day which is enough to keep on top of the whole garden with no missed bits (over a few days at least). The grass is always tidy, I like that the blades are offset so it cuts right up to the edge.
Its nice having an always-mown lawn but be prepared for the work involved. The boundary wire has to be installed which is manual work. And the mower does get itself into some troublesome situations which it needs to be rescued from. For example ours got stuck and the cut through its own boundary wire in two places before calling for help. So unless you have a large lawn mostly clear of things, the effort of mowing is just replaced by the effort of rescuing the mower and fixing the problems.
I was skeptical whether it would work or not. But it does and the grass looks pretty good so far. I laid the boundary cable just under the grass with a lawn edger. Took half a day but was easier in the rain. Had to make one small adjustment where it fell into the bedding as the cable was too close but otherwise it works well. The Wi-Fi does not work and Ive followed all the online guidance I.e. direct to router (adjusting all the settings possible), USB key direct to lawnmower, mobile hotspot - and it still doesnt work. That means the App has no value either. To add to frustration the supplemental Radiolink is out of stock across the whole country. Hence 1 star off.
