To transplant dahlias, wait until after the last frost date in your area, and choose a sunny location with well-draining soil. Dig up the plant, being careful not to damage the tubers, and replant it in the new location, covering the tubers with 2-3 inches of soil. Water the plant thoroughly and continue to water regularly until new growth appears.
