This shrub is best pruned in late-spring or early-summer after flowering is finished. Remove any thin, weak stems and any old, non flowering wood. Any new shoots should be trimmed back to 5 or 6 leaves to encourage flowering spurs to develop. After pruning, feed the plant with a general fertiliser incorporated into the soil.
