Why is my new Camellia plant flowering now?

💡 Our Advice
This will be a form of Sasanqua Camellia also known as autumn-flowering camellias which naturally flower at this time of year. In the UK they are best grown in a sunny, but sheltered position where the warmth and high light intensity will ensure that they flower well. They tend to be less hardy than the spring- flowering camellias.
