Deadheading is the process of removing spent flowers to promote continued blooming. Sweet peas benefit from deadheading, as it helps redirect the plant's energy towards producing more flowers. To deadhead sweet peas, simply pinch off the faded flowers along with the stem just above the next healthy set of leaves or flower buds. Be sure to use clean, sharp scissors or pruners to avoid damaging the stems. Deadheading should be done regularly throughout the growing season to keep the plants looking their best.
