How do I germinate bird of Paradise seeds?

Our Advice:

Remove the tuft of orange hairs from the seed coat and soak the seeds for 24 hours. Press seeds into moist sand and seal inside a plastic container. Place in a heated propagator at 21-24C (70-75F). Germination can take 3-4 months and flowering can take up to 6 years.
