What causes white, curled margins on bay leaves?

Our Advice:

This is caused by insects called bay leaf suckers, whose feeding has caused distortion. Spray the whole plant with Provanto Ultimate Bug Killer from Bayer or Bug Clear Ultra from Scott's. These products last for several weeks and will kill the insects as they feed, but this will not remove the markings on damaged leaves.
