What is causing white, curled margins on my bay leaves?

Our Advice:

This is pest called bay leaf sucker and their feeding on the plants sap has caused this leaf distortion. These white areas of the leaf will usually turn brown and gradually die. Spray the whole plant with Resolva Bug Killer from Westland or Bug Clear Ultra from Scott's. This will kill the insects as they feed, but further sprays may be needed.
