Alstroemeria (Peruvian lily) is usually propagated by dividing and replanting the clump. For the best results, this should be done in late-winter or early-spring. Dig up the whole plant and remove any soil before separating the thick, white underground stems. Wear gloves when handling these plants, the sap can be a skin irritant.
