Home > Question >

Why are all my leek plants collapsing, the stems are all mushy?

Our Advice:

This damage is caused by the Leek moth which has two generations during the summer the first in May-June and the second in August-October. Measures such as covering the crop with protective Enviromesh, or a Leek Moth Trap from Agralan combined with sprays of Sprayday Bayer Greenfly Killer'>Greenfly Killer from SBM are effective controls.
