How can I get rid of brambles and nettles?

Our Advice:

Cut the stems down to ground level and, when the new growth is about 30 cm (1 ft) high, spray with SBK Brushwood Killer from Vitax or Glyphosate with Systemic Action from Doff. This will be absorbed by the leaves and attack the underground roots, but several applications will be needed for established weeds.
