How do I choose the right soil for dahlias?

Our Advice:

Dahlias prefer well-draining soil with a pH between 6.0 and 7.5. Amend the soil with organic matter such as compost or aged manure to improve fertility and drainage. Avoid soil that is heavy or clay-like, as this can lead to waterlogged roots and reduced growth.
