How do I propagate sweet peas?

Our Advice:

Sweet peas can be propagated by seed or by cuttings. To propagate by seed, sow the seeds in moist, well-draining soil in late winter or early spring, and keep them warm and moist until they germinate. To propagate by cuttings, take 3- to 4-inch stem cuttings in early summer, dip the cut end in rooting hormone, and plant in a well-draining potting soil. Keep the cuttings moist and warm until they root.
