What is causing the leaves to shrivel and drop from my weeping willow?

Our Advice:

This is anthracnose, a fungus which is spread by water splashes. There is no chemical control, just rake up any dead leaves and twigs and dispose of them. In winter prune out any dead shoots or those with large stem cankers on them.
