What is the best grass seed for underneath conifers?

💡 Our Advice
There are no lawn grasses that will grow well in the deep shade and very dry soil conditions normally found at the base of established conifers. You could try using ground-cover plants which will grow in these conditions instead, such as Lamium, large-leaved ivy, Hypericum calycinum, Geranium phaeum, Pachysandra terminalis or Bergenia cordifolia.
