When can I stand my Canna plants outside on the patio?

Our Advice:

These plants are frost tender, so the underground stem (rhizome) must never get frozen. You can start them growing in a well-lit porch or conservatory in the spring but do not move them out before mid-May to avoid late frosts. If the young shoots get frosted the tips will turn black and die, and flowering will be delayed.
