Why are the leaves on my globe thistle turning brown?

Our Advice:

Globe thistle (Echinops ritro) often develops powdery mildew in late summer. It is not worth spraying this late in the year, but next summer use Fungus Fighter Plus from Bayer or Fungus Clear Ultra from Scott's to protect the plants leaves.
