Why do pyracantha berries go hard, black and cracked?

💡 Our Advice
This sounds like Pyracantha scab, a fungus which attacks leaves and berries. Spray with Fungus Clear Ultra from Scott's or Systemic Fungus Control from Doff. Trim off infected berries, spray the soil around the plants base and rake up all fallen leaves/fruit.
