Spiraea Arguta usually flowers in mid to late spring and one of the most common reasons for a lack of flowers is pruning at the wrong time of year and removing the buds. The best time to prune is just after flowering, cutting out any thin, weak shoots to prevent overcrowding. Also cut back by half the shoots which have just flowered (cutting back to a strong healthy bud or shoot).
