Our Advice
This is dog lichen, which usually indicates heavy, poorly-drained soil. Apply lawn sand containing Sulphate of Iron to kill it off and spike the lawn to a depth of 10-15cm to improve aeration and drainage. Autumn feeds with Aftercut All In One from Westland will help to restore the strength and vigour of the lawn and treat the lichen.
