What is causing brown patches on my conifer hedges?

💡 Our Advice
It sounds like your conifers are being attacked by cypress aphids. The damage shows as brown patches of dead foliage in the hedge. Sprays of Organic 2 in 1 (Vitax) or Resolva Natural Power Bug Killer (Westland) will control this pest. Spray around the edges of the dead patches, where the aphids will be to survive the winter.
