Which is better to use, fertiliser or manure?

Our Advice:

Manure is likely to contain about 0.6% Nitrogen, 0.1% Phosphate and 0.5% Potash. A widely used garden fertiliser such as Growmore, contains 7% of these nutrients. You would need about 12 times more manure to provide the same feed as the Growmore. To feed plants use fertiliser, to improve soil fertility and structure add manure.
