Why has my rhubarb only produced small weak stalks this year?

💡 Our Advice
Remember this spring has been one of the driest on record, your plant is probably quite dry and needs regular watering in order for it to recover and keep growing. Also, these plants can suffer from crown rot caused by harmful soil-borne fungi or bacteria. This makes the leaves turn yellow, giving weak growth and killing the plant.
