Why have my tomatoes got hard, green patches on the outside skin?

💡 Our Advice
This is not a disease but a disorder called Greenback. Usually caused by periods of very bright sunlight, high temperatures and insufficient potassium fertiliser during fruit development and ripening. It is more commonly found on tomatoes grown in a greenhouse. You can get resistant varieties; Alicante, Cristal, Nimbus and Shirley
