Can I grow holly plants from the berries?

💡 Our Advice
Yes, the berries can be sown in pots of John Innes No1 compost and placed in a cool sheltered part of the garden. They need to be chilled by one or two winters to break their dormancy before germinating. You may need to protect them against mice and squirrels.
