Why is my holly bush shedding its berries before they turn red?

💡 Our Advice
This is usually due to lack of water just after flowering and as the berries started to form. The berries look normal but are damaged at the base where they join the plant. A holly bush needs at least 14 litres (3 gallons) of water a week.
