How and when do I prune a Guelder rose?

Our Advice:

Viburnum opulus should be pruned in spring just as the growth starts. Cut out the oldest, darkest-coloured shoots and take thin, weak shoots back to one bud. After pruning, feed with Growmore or Pelleted Chicken Manure.
