How can I get rid of brambles on my allotment?

Our Advice:

Individual brambles are shallow rooted and easy to dig up, but this can encourage more seeds to germinate. Alternatively, you can cut the old stems down to ground level and, when the new growth is about 30 cms, high spray them with SBK Brushwood Killer from Vitax or Resolva 24H Weedkiller from Westland.
