How can I get rid of brambles in my garden?

Our Advice:

Brambles are shallow rooted and easy to dig up, but this can encourage more bramble seeds to germinate. Alternatively, you can cut the old stems down to ground level and when the new growth is about 30 cm (1 ft) high spray with SBK Brushwood Killer (Vitax) or Superfast, Longlasting Weedkiller (Neudorff).
