How can I stop mice nesting in my compost bins?

Our Advice:

Obviously, the compost will be attractive to the mice. They have a ready supply of food and the surroundings will be relatively warm. If you start turning your compost in the bins on a regular basis, the disturbance will encourage the mice to find somewhere else to nest.
