Can I compost my used tea bags?

💡 Our Advice
Tea bags contain about 4% nitrogen and 0.5% phosphorous plus traces of other elements. Also, the tea is slightly acidic so it can help to lower the pH of your soil. Some brands of tea bag are not fully compostable and will rot down only very slowly.
