Originally from West Africa, Clerodendron thompsoniae usually flowers in the summer in the UK. It needs a warm sunny position to do well and should be pruned as soon as the flowers fade. Immediately after pruning, feed the plant with a top dressing of Sulphate of Potash at about 100g per square metre.
