How do I stop my grape vine bleeding sap after I have pruned it?

💡 Our Advice
This mild, wet winter means many plants have never been fully dormant and the sap is flowing. If the pruning cuts continue to bleed cover them with freshly-cut slices of potato, as the starch in the potato soaks up the sap and slowly stops the bleeding.
