How do I feed / fertilise sweet peas?
Our Advice
Sweet peas need adequate nutrients to thrive, so it's essential to fertilise them regularly. Before planting, you can add well-rotted manure or compost to the soil to improve its fertility. You can also apply a balanced, slow-release fertiliser at the time of planting. During the growing season, you can use a liquid fertiliser once a week to encourage healthy growth and blooming. A high-potassium fertiliser can also help improve flower production. Be sure to follow the instructions on the fertiliser packaging to avoid overfeeding, which can lead to excessive foliage growth at the expense of flowers.
