How do I overwinter my potted Canna lily?

💡 Our Advice
These plants are frost-tender, so the underground stem (rhizome) must never get frozen. You need to keep the plant in a place which is frost-free, such as a well-lit porch or conservatory. Cut the shoots down to just above compost level and do not water the plant until you see signs of growth in spring.
