When is the best time to divide my bird of paradise plant?

Our Advice:

You can propagate Strelitzia by splitting or dividing the clump in the spring. Remove any old or damaged leaves and dead flower stalks. Repot the divisions into smaller pots in a peat-based multipurpose potting compost and water well to settle the compost.
