When should I remove the old flower stem from my urn plant?

💡 Our Advice
As soon as it starts to shrivel, you can cut the old flower stalk off your Aechmea plant. Both the flower stem and the rosette of leaves it originated from will gradually shrivel and die anyway. It will be replaced by one or more new rosettes growing from beside the dying one, which will produce the next flower stem.
