When should I trim my pampas grass?

Our Advice:

This can be done any time now. Cut down the flower plumes as close to the base as possible. Pull or cut out the old dead leaves to make room for the new growth. One way to do this is to comb out the dead leaves with a garden rake. Always wear stout gloves when handling this plant.
